I have previously received COVID-related emergency small business grant funding from Lakeville, Dakota County and/or MN DEED. Should I apply?: Yes. Lakeville businesses affected by MN Executive Order 20-99 are eligible to receive funds from the Lakeville Small Business Emergency Grant Program – Third Round, even if they have previously received grants from the City of Lakeville, Dakota County or the State of Minnesota.

1. How much money is available in the third round of the Lakeville Small Business Emergency Grant Program?: The Third Round Lakeville Small Business Emergency Grant Program is funded by City of Lakeville General Fund dollars and will award grant applications up to $400,000.

2. What amount can my business receive from that fund?: The grant application will be available on lakevillemn.gov from December 22-31, 2020. Eligible applications will be awarded a $5,000 grant.

3. How will funding decisions be made?: Qualifying businesses will be awarded a city grant. Please refer to the Program Guidelines for complete qualifying eligibility criteria.

4. How will the grant program administrator communicate with me?: The majority of communication will take place via email. Applicants are encouraged to provide an accurate email address and check their junk folders regularly so as not to miss any grant-related communications.

5. When will I know if my business has been awarded a grant?: The Lakeville Community & Economic Development Department will notify applicants by email within 10 business days of the submittal of a complete application.

6. How quickly will I receive the grant funds once my application has been approved?: After all required documentation has been received and approved by city staff, the grant funds will be issued within 10 days.

7. What does "permanent physical location in the Lakeville city boundaries" mean?: Eligible applicants must have a physical business location within Lakeville city boundaries. Those with Lakeville addresses located outside city boundaries are considered ineligible.

8. My restaurant has a drive-thru window and/or had no interior dine-in seating prior to March 1, 2020. Am I eligible to receive a grant?: No. Restaurants that were carry-out only (no dine-in seating) prior to March 1, 2020 and/or have a drive-thru window are not eligible for a grant, as per the Program Guidelines.

9. My business was allowed to open at a reduced capacity on December 19, 2020, per MN Executive Order 20-103. Am I still eligible for a grant?: Yes, as long as your business is considered eligible under the Program Guidelines. Businesses, such as gyms, that were closed in response to MN Executive Order 20-99 are eligible to receive a grant, even if they were allowed to open at a reduced indoor capacity per MN Executive Order 20-103.

10. I have previously received COVID-related emergency small business grant funding from Lakeville, Dakota County and/or MN DEED. Should I apply?: Yes. Lakeville businesses affected by MN Executive Order 20-99 are eligible to receive funds from the Lakeville Small Business Emergency Grant Program – Third Round, even if they have previously received grants from the City of Lakeville, Dakota County or the State of Minnesota.

11. I have received federal emergency funding through either the PPP or EIDL, am I eligible to apply and receive Lakeville funds?: Yes, but Lakeville Small Business Emergency Grant Program funds should be used to cover different expenses over and above specific uses of those federal funds.

12. What documentation is required at time of application?: A completed application form with all questions answered. No additional documentation is required with the application form. If your application is selected and verified, additional documentation will be requested via email.

13. What documentation is required after the application, but prior to receiving a grant?: A W-9, a completed Direct Deposit Form and a voided check/bank information will be needed to electronically transfer funds.

14. Do I have to have a certain number of employees to qualify?: No. Any Lakeville business directly affected by MN Executive Order 20-99 is eligible to receive a grant, regardless of employee numbers.

15. How will my credit score affect my application?: Credit score will not affect your eligibility or selection for funding.
