- Beginning Tuesday, August 22 through Friday, August 25, the City’s contractor will complete milling operations, underseal work and final paving efforts. Due to the nature of the work, delays should be expected during travels along 205th Street within the construction limits. Please look to onsite representatives and signage for direction while traveling on 205th Street. Following final paving efforts, striping and shouldering will commence the following week prior to opening of 205th Street on Friday, September 1.
- Beginning Friday, August 18, Ipava Avenue will be open to north-south traffic within the currently closed section until late September. Ipava Avenue will be closed briefly in late September for final paving efforts, striping and landscaping efforts within the roundabout.
- Starting Monday, June 12 to mid-August, a section of 205th Street will be closed to regional traffic from Kenrick Avenue to Ipava Avenue as part of a City project.
- Ipava Avenue from 205th Street/202nd Street north to 201st Street will be closed to all traffic during the same timeframe to construct a single-lane roundabout at the relocated Antlers Park entrance. The 201st Street and 202nd Street intersections along Ipava Avenue will remain open during construction.
Mail Delivery and Trash Removal
Residents will receive mail at their current mailbox location without a need for any temporary mailboxes. Trash removal will follow all normal routes for residents. Put out your trash and recycling bins based on your scheduled pickup dates.
Trail Extension
As part of the 205th Street Improvement Project, an asphalt trail will be extended along the north side of 205th Street from Jupiter Way (western segment of the loop) through the Juno Trailway Trailhead to 204th Street (western segment of the loop). The extension of the trail through this gap will provide more direct access from the north side of 205th Street to the Juno Trail network around west Lake Marion and better access to an existing pedestrian crosswalk at the Juno Trailway Trailhead, allowing for safer north-south pedestrian crossings on 205th Street.
Roundabout Improvements
The Antlers Park Master Plan includes relocation of the main park access to Ipava Avenue between 201st Street and 202nd Street. To provide a safe, efficient and multi-modal accessible access, intersection improvements are required along Ipava Avenue. The proposed improvements include construction of a single lane roundabout. The roundabout will be constructed along with the 205th Street improvements, and will be completed prior to the completion of the Antlers Park improvements in 2023.
