Turn hunger into hope with your own two hands at this service project. Volunteers will meet at the Feed My Starving Children site in Eagan to package food for malnourished children around the world. After watching a short video about FMSC, we will then put on hairnets and gloves and get busy packaging meals.
Note: Carpooling from Lakeville Heritage Center is encouraged. Leave your jewelry at home. Monetary donations are also accepted on-site. Sign up at the Heritage Center or by calling 952-985-4620.

The Minnesota Highway Safety & Research Center conducts driver safety classes at the Heritage Center. Drivers 55+ may be eligible for a 10% discount on their auto insurance. An 8-hour course is initially required, followed by a 4-hour refresher class every three years. Ann Messerschmidt, Lakeville’s Environmental Resources Specialist, will lead this walk, pointing out the rain garden, shoreline restoration and other items of interest. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and bring binoculars. The casual, low-intensity walk will be approximately one mile on an asphalt trail. Enjoy an introduction to the pottery museum and displays. This museum has more than 6,000 historic pieces of stoneware, art pottery dinnerware and folk art. Lunch will be at Liberty Restaurant and will feature meatloaf, coleslaw, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables, roll, beverage and ice cream sundae. Next, enjoy a riding tour of historic Red Wing. You will then have time to wander through beautiful downtown Red Wing on your own for a little shopping.

This class will guide you through the step-by-step process of creating an online account and signing up for classes and programs online and renewing membership and passes online. Feel free to bring your laptop or iPad. Otherwise, follow along and bring your notes home to try it at home. LAAA Coordinator, Renee, will lead the class and will be available following class for one-on-one assistance.

This presentation reviews what is covered by Parts A, B, C and D of Medicare, as well as Medicare supplement options available. The enrollment process and options for enrollment in Medicare will be discussed along with the personal costs of the program.
